Founder of WriteSteps to Present Essential Tools for Common Core Writing Success at the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals

Grandville, MI (PRBuzz) November 26, 2012 — Suzanne Klein, the founder and CEO of WriteSteps, a research-based and award-winning K-5 Common Core writing and grammar program, will present a workshop on the keys to successful Common Core writing instruction at the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals location on November 26, 2012, at 3550 Amazonas Dr. in Jefferson City, MO.

Klein, a former K-5 teacher and national writing coach, speaks nationally on best practices in Common Core writing instruction. WriteSteps provides professional development and teacher-friendly lessons that include video demonstrations that focus on the widely-adopted Common Core State Standards for writing and grammar.

Klein will lead workshop participants in exploring how to effectively implement the Common Core writing standards in order to prepare for the 2014/2015 writing test. Participants will receive the tools needed to support their teachers’ focus on developing strong Common Core writing instruction in classrooms. Principals will leave the workshop ready to implement effective Common Core strategies in writing and will take home practical tools for their teachers to use.

The Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals is the only statewide association in Missouri that exists for the purpose of serving the needs of elementary and middle school principals, assistant principals and those educators with an interest in becoming principals.

Klein has extensive training in writing pedagogy best practices, including writer’s workshop and 6 Traits. She holds a Master of Arts degree in teaching, is a National Writing Project fellow, and draws inspiration from educators such as Ralph Fletcher, Barry Lane, Lucy Calkins, Katie Wood Ray, and John Collins. She has worked as a writing coach for thousands of teachers at the district level and at national workshops for the Bureau of Education Research.
